Before going to Watercolor Beach this week, I decided to have lunch with architect and interior designer turned artist, Liana Yarkin. I purchased one of her beautiful pieces of art to gift my friend while were enjoying the same colors at the beach.
Liana Yarckin's passion for watercolor has grown into a full time love. "I love the luminosity of watercolor, a characteristic found in no other medium." Composition and color are innate to Liana given her background working in the world of architecture and interior design. She has taken her art a step further by sharing it with many via the trending fashion accessory: scarves. "It was only natural to print my paintings on silk scarves. My grandmother taught me how to sew when I was a child, a skill that has taught me the appreciation of design and fine fabric. She also always wore beautiful silk scarves. When I see my painting on a silk scarf, I think of the elegance and grace of her, of any woman making a statement."
Liana's work is currently on display at Cerulean Gallery. Her scarves can be purchased on her website.
